Satisfaction guarantee is a myth
Ordered 4 pleated shades- one was at least 1 1/2 inch short. Both shades were too narrow for the side by side windows.
Called immediately a nd was told to take a picture and send it, which is what I did. Ordered two new shades and wondered who is going to pay for shipping wrong ones back. I was told that I would be credited for both then when I called to ask about shipping costs I was told that they would call me within 24 hours to let me know. Two days later I had to call them.
Was told they would call me back. ?????
I guess they are not to anxious to admit they screwed up. This will be the last time I use them.

Ordered three blinds, missing parts in one
I did not realize that the blinds ordered are 'custom' and as such not returnable.
TERRIBLE customer service! I asked to speak to a manager since so that I could get a shipping label to return the shades that I asked NOT to be sent to me but I was told that he was too busy...

I continued to try and get this company to right this problem, and they never did. Dozens of emails, and lie after lie. RUN from this company they are TOTALLY AWFUL to deal with!
The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
Rip Off!
I've had a really unjust experience with Select Blinds!!! In short: I ordered blinds from them according to the tab on their webpage entitled "How to Measure" In the end it turns out that their own webpage omitted important information contained on another page that is NOT referenced on the "how to measure" page. The company then blamed me when the blinds did not fit!! This company does not do business in good faith! Please beware, this is NOT a company to trust.
Whole Story: All started out well and my order came quickly. However, when I went to hang the blinds I found that each blind was 1" larger than I ordered and would not fit.
So, I contacted the company and Simas was very helpful, telling me to take a photo of the blinds with a tape measure. I did and here was his response: "Thank you for the photos. They were perfect! I have forwarded them to the manufacturer and requested they remake them correctly for you. I am pretty sure they will let you keep these shades but please don't get rid of these until you have the replacements. I will let you know what the manufacturer says." Later that day he responded: "The manufacturer has approved remaking your shades. Have a great day!"
I wanted to be sure that I had measured and done all correctly so I replied and asked for clarification: "Fantastic!!! Just to make sure: When you measure for the blinds with an outside mount, continuous loop do they add on for the valance (hope not!)? It was my understanding that the width dimension I enter is for the shade AND the valance." Simas replied, "The width you order will be the width you get. The height is from the top of the headrail to the bottom of the bottom fabric. Hope this helps!"
Three days later as I'm awaiting my replacement shades I get the following email: "Upon further research of the remake, the manufacturer and we have found out that Outside mount shades made with a continuous cord loop will come about an inch wider to accommodate the controls. This information is stated in the product info tab on our website. The roman shades you ordered were made correctly."
I was dumbfounded and told him the steps that I went through on their website to obtain the measurements. I followed the link contained on their webpage for "specifications" for the type of blind I ordered. Nowhere did it say on their HOW TO MEASURE PAGE for this specific blind that they add an inch on!!! The only reference to measurements on this page is, "*width and length measurements may vary +/- 1/8" If you go to the page where the blinds are described, it does say they add an inch but I didn't use that page, I used the page entitled how to measure. It turns out these instructions were inaccurate. How is it my fault that their website omitted important information? I shouldn't have to scour their website to get accurate information.
After appealing to them regarding their erroneous website I was told "As per our managers and the manufacturer, this will have to be considered a mis-measure. It is stated under your specific product that "Outside mount shades ordered with top down bottom up and continuous cord loop will be 1" wider than the width ordered." Since this is stated under the product specifications, we have made it correctly and would only be able to remake the shade for you at a 50% discount as stated under our policy for mis-measures. You would be able to donate the shades you have now to a charity like Habitat for Humanity and write it off on your taxes to get your money back. I apologize but this is the information I was told to forward to you".
Their own representative did not know that an inch is added and their own "How to Measure" instructions on their website with specifications for these particular blinds omitted this information, but they are not responsible for the mis-measure???? It all sounds like another company that no one out there should trust. Oh and when is the last time one could "get your money back" by donating to a charity??? Come on! Maybe we should all spend the day going through our closets, donating what no longer works for us and use that money to go shopping for a new wardrobe…really????

I don't know what you paid, but might be worth buying some clear stain and coat them with a layer or two. Since you're stuck woth them, might as well try to resolve on your own.
Thanks. I found out there is some type of wood sealer that I can get at Home Depot. Guess I will try that.
